Global FinTech Funding

The annual Venture Report by CB Insights shows accelerating growth for Fintech in 2021.

The number and total value of deals reached record levels, at 4,969 and USD 131.5bn respectively. FinTech accounted for 21% of all venture funding in the period.

​

The USA continues to account for over 50% of the market with Asia on 23% and Europe 16%. 

​

64% of transactions focused on early-stage, creating a strong pipeline for coming years. FinTech now has 235 unicorns, some 25% of the total market.

​

M&A activity rose, reflecting Tech and FS sector incumbents preference to acquire FinTechs as a faster, less risky way of accelerating digital transformation and expansion.
